cole17 Posted July 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2004 I saw alot of discussion about the beaches in Greece....including Rhodes. I would be interested in going to the beachwhen we are in Rhodes in August. Can anyone tell be the best way to get there? Are they walking distance? Is it a cheap taxi ride? Also, I think I read in an earlier posting that the old town is within walking distance from the ship as well...is that true? Thanks!!!
Colorado Kid Posted July 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted July 9, 2004 My wife and I recently returned from a cruise and we were in Rhodes June 24th. Yes, old town is about 1000 yards from where the ship docks. We took a local bus to Lindos which has a gorgeous beach and you can visit the Lindos Acropolis. The cost was about 3 euros per person one way. It took about an hour on the bus to get to Lindos. The town of Lindos is very pretty. The bus stop is just on the outside of old town on the opposite end of where you dock. Most people speak English and can direct you to the bus stop or your ship tour desk should be able to give you directions. Have a great time.
