On Board Credit Question (unused Credit)

To have money left over on a cruise? You can use it for tips, or spa, or shore excursions. Buy stuff onboard you absolutely don't need....I think the cruiseline would have to answer this directly and I would get the name of the person or get an email in writing. If anything it might show up as a credit on your credit card at the end but I would verify it with them.

Slightly, different question my son did not have a credit card when we cruised in May 2006 so he put down $300 cash and he had about $60 left in his account when we disembarked and Celebrity has not returned his money to him. It has been over three months now.

What should he do?

:) We have $450.00 in on-board credit for an upcomming cruise.

Question..... In the unlikely event we do not use all of the credit....

do we loose it? Or can we carry over to next cruise?:)

We had $600 OBC for our Christmas-New Years trip and I could not envision spending it all. The Captain's Club rep said the policy was to refund any remainer to our credit card.

We ended up spending it all, so I can't swear they would have followed through! If you want the remainder immediately, buy casino chips and cash them in immediately.

I would not want to have to carry OBC over to a future cruise.

If you are on a Celebrity Ship, and assuming you gave them a credit card to cover expenses while on board, just go to Casino and draw the on board credit money you have left with your Sea Pass card. You don't have to buy anything just ask for $$$. :D (you may want to take a little more just to be sure) The bill from the credit card doesn't come in for 30+ days!

Celebrity allows up to $1200/1500 a day to be drawn (no charge, some lines charge 3%)

Some people draw $$$ money every day to get travel points and the run to bank after they are home.

Now for the real question. We were booked on the Connie for the Baltic cruise that left on 8/26. Paid in full. We had to cancell due to medical reasons. The insurance will cover everything (X- insurance), less insurance $.

We had $450.00 obc. X has been paid in full. Shoud we push X for the obc?

We have booked X South America for 1/14/07

OPINIONS PLEASE

THANKS:confused:

It depends where the OBC came from. If it was from a shareholder benefit, you are out of luck. We had a coupon on a cruise we had to cancel and X transferred it to our next cruise. You might see if they will do the same for you.

We put cash down for the on board credit on Rccl's Empress of the Seas and we did not use all of it and the night before when we went to purser's desk they gave us back the unused portion. It was like 40.00 bucks. I am hoping celebrity does the same thing.....

Heya Big Dave here's the scoop. Celebrity says whatever you put down on your shipboard credit & you don't use it, it will be given back to you the night before you leave the ship at the purser's desk. Now say you put cash down and don't use it all then the remainder of the cash you did not use you'll get back. If you use a credit card the same thing apply's. Credit card will get credited for the amount unused. I am glad you asked this question because now I know too! Have a safe & happy cruise....

Angel Hugs,

Debbie
