Disembarking San Juan immediately following St Thomas

Our itinerary next year on Adventure takes us to St Thomas immediately before disembarking in San Juan. Because you have to go through customs in St Thomas, does the process go more quickly in San Juan. Just curious as I know homeland security calls the shots.

You go through immigration in St. Thomas but you will still have to go through customs in San Juan. It should take less time than when you have to go through both immigration and customs together.
