Crusso Posted March 14, 2007 #128 Share Posted March 14, 2007 We were on the same cruise last year on the Magica, April 2, 2006. How funny is that?!?!? We enjoyed the Magica's Decor, and it is a little more "colorful" than on the Mediterranea. The four of us liked the Mediterranea better, a little more subdued, but very elegant. Our assistant waiter from the Med. was our head waiter on the Magica, and we had the same Cabin attendant on both ships. We also recognized many of the casino and dining room crew members. The crew was better on the Med. altough many of them are now on the Magica. Just a few more days!!!! Corrie p.s April and Angelo are the couple from Phoenix

bucksfan225 Posted March 17, 2007 #131 Share Posted March 17, 2007 My wife and I and two daughters 8 and 11 will be on board. We have been on four other cruises, but never on Costa. Looking forward to trying out something different. We have loved every cruise, but the next one is always the most fun. Can't wait for the 80 degree weather instead of 30 in Wisconsin. See you on the ship. I'll be the one getting his money's worth out of the X1 package.;)

Love-to-Travel Posted March 17, 2007 #133 Share Posted March 17, 2007 On your packing list I like the Bubbles for sail-away. I never heard of that one before. I don't think we'll pack that much. For one thing we are flying Spirit Air and they just had a new policy that you are limited to one checked bag each. The next bag is $10 each and a third is $50 or $100 I believe. So less is better for us. I just have to convince my wife of that:rolleyes: Bob
Jdleong Posted March 17, 2007 Author #134 Share Posted March 17, 2007 I think that list is for locals like Chris and Corrie, who don't have any weight restrictions. The more cruises I go on, the lighter I seem to pack, seems being the word I use. I need to take a lot less clothes! Next week is when I start to weed out the unnecessary items and put them back in the closet. Has anyone decided on a time for a meet and greet on the back of the ship? Is anyone arriving really late?( after 4pm). The countdown has started.....15 days to go.... Jan

Yeldarb Posted March 19, 2007 #136 Share Posted March 19, 2007 According to CozumelInsider.com the mediteranea is docked at punta langosta this friday while in Cozumel. Considering that these things are probably arranged long in advance chance are very good that that's where we'll dock as well. Just wanted to pass that along for anyone making plans. Cheers! Jdleong Posted March 20, 2007 Author #137 Share Posted March 20, 2007 I got an e-mail from Nativeway in Grand Cayman and they stated that we will be docking at the new Royal Walter terminal dock, not tendering. That's great news, I don't have to hurry for a tender boat. Jan Wrong....it will be tendering at that dock, there are three places to tender to, and that has eliminated the gridlock, I miss read the e-mail
Yeldarb Posted March 22, 2007 #138 Share Posted March 22, 2007 I read on another post that gates open about 10:30am and you can get on at 11am. X1 begins at noon :D Cheers, Brad
Jdleong Posted March 22, 2007 Author #139 Share Posted March 22, 2007 I read that too, and that way we can get a head start on making sure we get our $ worth on the X1 package. Also, all those people will be staring at the buffet line, and by the end of the cruise they will be rolling off, asking "why did I eat so much". I remember my first cruise, and how much I ate at that first lunch, I must have thought that they might run out of food, so I had better eat a lot. Now I have learned to pace myself. Brad, leave some beer and wine for the rest of us...LOL we still have the meet and greet to celebrate. Jan
zandramarie Posted March 23, 2007 #140 Share Posted March 23, 2007 My co-worker asked me if I was getting excited about my cruise. I haven't had time to even think about it, life has been so crazy! I just yesterday booked my flight back to Sacramento, took me long enough to do that. Going to stay an extra night to visit with an aunt who lives in West Palm Beach. Does someone know what terminal we disembark from? Haven't a clue what excursions we are going to do, my head piece for my toga is still just a thought and pack, maybe Saturday before we catch the plane. (My husband just yelled Honey, when are we going to pack? We only have a week!) Ahhhhhh, I will be ready for this cruise. R and R without the 1X package but just means my bar bill will be high:) How is everyone else doing? Zandra
Jdleong Posted March 23, 2007 Author #141 Share Posted March 23, 2007 She has been at terminal 29 for the past 5 weeks so I would assume that she will be there next time too. to be sure here is the site: http://www.broward.org/port/shipschedule.htm I am getting out the suitcases, getting a haircut, and I have 7 days till we leave the house. A lot of loose ends to get done, mostly getting the kids to pack their stuff. I hate the Thursday night panic, but there is a Walgreens across from our hotel, I have reanted a car in Fort Lauderdale, so what I don't have I can get there... I stll have to finish the togas...just about done... See everyone in a week from Sunday! Jan
Jdleong Posted March 24, 2007 Author #142 Share Posted March 24, 2007 My son Michael wants to meet the other kids. How about a meet and greet for this roll call at 4:00pm on Sunday on the rail behind the spa(hot tub) on deck 9 AFT. Hope you will come and meet the folks who have been on this board, share your thoughts and toast to a great cruise! see ya there... Jan
drb Posted March 25, 2007 #143 Share Posted March 25, 2007 Sounds like a plan to us. Tomorrow is packing day for us, today was last minute shopping, you know, suntan lotion and laurel wreaths :) We are really looking forward to getting some rest time in and seeing some new places and people. See you there.
ROWSE Posted March 25, 2007 #144 Share Posted March 25, 2007 We will try to get there. Excuse us if we don't as seems like the first moments are so exciting and we love to look all over the ship. I am packing and repacking and urging my daughter and husband to do so. They are the last minute type. Most of the time my husband doesn't even know what is up on ports of call etc. till we are within a few days of going.
zandramarie Posted March 25, 2007 #145 Share Posted March 25, 2007 4:00 PM meet and greet sounds good. Got the suitcases out and my husband has his half of the suitcase packed and a garment bag. Wanted to get away with just that but think another bag is going to be needed as I haven't started yet:) Always pack to much. Was searching the boards for shore excursions. Thinking maybe horseback riding in Roatan and Paradise Beach in Cozumel. Also found the sight about how many ships will be in port when we are, Key West 2, Grand Caymen 5, Roatan 0 and Cozumel 6. Makes me want to get shore excursions in Grand Caymen and Cozumel down pat for sure. Also saw where 2 people went overboard on the Grand Princess. Reading alot on Spring Breakers on these ships. We are traveling on our school break, wonder how many we will have. Better get to the suitcase! Zandra

RuckN Posted March 27, 2007 #147 Share Posted March 27, 2007 Time is getting short, I guess we should start getting ready. How many plan to be there at 4:00? I know that we will. Yeldarb Posted March 29, 2007 #149 Share Posted March 29, 2007 Last year it took me 2.5 hours to go 30 miles to get me out of Atlanta. I'm sure it'll be the same gridlock tomorrow night. We're packing like crazy. I've got my duct tape, extension cord, and contraband fluids all ready to go. I hope to see you all at 4pm Sunday. You always end up seeing the same people all week long, that's why I like doing the meet and greet just so I have some names to go with the faces. Cheers and Safe Travels! claire1963 Posted March 30, 2007 #150 Share Posted March 30, 2007 Hi there---I am traveling with my 17 yr old daughter, and my mom. We are in cabin 6176. This is our 3rd Costa cruise and you can't beat the price vs. all the other cruise lines. The ship is beautiful, food is delicious, and service is good. Shows and late night entertainment is not too bad---I haven't heard about this year's entertainment, so I can't speak for this cruise. Anyone else heard anything? Not sure if this has posted or not, but for 50 cents more on drinks, you get a "go large" version of the drink. See you all Saturday!
