cee.lynn Posted September 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2006 Hi everyone - I have an aversion to two-wheeled vehicles (bikes, scooters, mopeds, etc), but was told thats the best way to get around Key West. I did some research and found a few places that offer electric car rentals, such as this place (http://bellsouthpwp.net/t/r/troprent/prod03.htm). My first question is has anyone used this or any other company that you might be able to recommend to me? Secondly, is this even necessary? Is KW small enough that walking around in some comfortable shoes is maybe the best and easiest way to go? Thanks! C
rjscott Posted September 5, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2006 Ceelynn, you can walk around Key West, but certain sights are a bit far-flung, so you'd find it easier to have some kind of transportation. The Conch Tour Train is a great way to see the sights and get some info on KW without driving. We did rent an electric car one day and had a blast tooling around. It's very compact, so much easier to park than regular autos, and parking can be difficult to find sometimes. We drove to the Southernmost Point, Ft Zachary Taylor and other spots we hadn't seen before when we'd walked around town. Here's the company we used: http://www.seefloridaonline.com/keywestcruisers/
