Westerdam September 28, 2006 from LA to Panama Canal

Hi! Any suggestions for excursions. Our ports will be Mexco: Puerto Valerta and Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa; Puerto Quetzal Guatalmala; San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua; Costa Rica: Puntarenas and Gulfo Dulce; Panama Canal, Panama; Willemstad, Curacao; St. Thomas, U.S.VI.; Half Moon Cay, Bahamas and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I've been told that booking excursions on my own with excursion companies I find on line is much cheaper and just as good as booking it through the cruise lines. Has anyone had success in doing this with these particular ports?

 

Any suggestions regarding what to do and where to go will be VERY appreciated.
