That's an easy one for me, Freedom or Liberty without a doubt. Our last cruise was Disney Magic our next one is Freedom.

Your kids are at the age where they will have a better time on a freedom class ship at RCCL then on Magic.

There is so much more to do on Freedom/Liberty than on Magic. It is a much bigger ship. I personally was not wowed by the service on the Magic. I receive MUCH better service when I stay at a deluxe Disney Resort at WDW. I also received much better service on RCCL.

For the price of a category 7 or 8 on Disney, we are getting a grand suite on Freedom. Also with the grand suite include all of the perks of the concierge level, like the conceirge lounge (free drinks), priority embarkation and debarkation, tender tickets, ice skating tickets, gifts delivered to your room, robes, full bath and oversized balcony with lounge chairs, etc.

No casino on Disney and the only shopping onboard is a Dinsey souvenir store. I am not a gambler by any stretch of the imagination but I like to have a casino there at night when nothing else is going on. I found myself looking for things to do on the Magic whereas on RCCL, I always have to decide WHICH activity I want to do for the night.

In our family we have compromised. For Disney we go to WDW before the cruise then for the cruise we go on RCCL. The kids (age 2 and 6) like WDW much more anyway.

My family just got off the Freedom and we LOVED it! We have done four Disney cruises and were a little worried about trying something new. My kids ages 6, 8 and 20 months had the time of their lives! Freedom has soooo much to do on it that appeals to everyone. My husband loved the casino which Disney doesn't have. My older children loved the ice skating and the miniature golf and of course the H2O zone which Disney doesn't have. I did miss Flounder's nursery for my baby, but overall, we will defintely be back on the Freedom!! Disney has great kids clubs, but so does Freedom. I think overall, there is more to do for kids of all ages on the Freedom. Don't get me wrong, I would go on another Disney cruise in a heart beat, but we really enjoyed Freedom!:)

I agree with cruisinmama06 and eagmommy. When our children were 3, 4 and 5, Disney was a great way to go--having the characters on board was wonderful. We also loved DCL, but now that the kids are older, I will go with RCCL or CCL. The service is just as good, if not better and there are more things to do on board for adults and kids. Plus I don't believe it's really worth the premium price for DCL: cruisinmama's right--we were able to get two balcony rooms on RCCL for less than the price of an oceanview (window) room and an inside stateroom on DCL.
