We used The Dive Ship LTD in Barbados this June. They were great! Had no complaints or problems. They pick you up and drop you off. Their people are friendly and very safety oriented. They were also careful to keep us on schedule to ensure we would get back to the ship on time. I sent several emails with questions and Haroon (the owner), was very prompt in writing back and answering all my questions. Here is their website:

We used Anchorage Hotel and Whale Watch Dive center in Dominca

this April...good dive shop, boat, dive master and dives...strongly recommend them (they even offer rum punch--after the dives)...during our rest spot--they took us to hot springs--at the ocean's edge...http://www.anchoragehotel.dm

Hi,

I used West Side Scuba (http://westsidescuba.com/) in Barbados and was quite pleased with them. They picked us up and dropped us off at the cruise terminal. And what I see as their greatest selling point, the owner actually asked how many dives each diver had done and separated the group out by experience (first time I've seen this in the Caribbean). He assigned two dive masters to the inexperienced group and took them to shallower waters and gave us one dive master and gave us a bit more freedom to pick our spots. One comment I have about Barbados. The reefs apparently have been over fished and I have to say that while the reefs looked in very good shape, the fish were scarce. Only saving grace was two turtles who seemed to like having the reefs to themselves.

Thanks for the replies. Have any of you heard of the boatyard in barbados?

Roger's Scuba Shack in Barbados? It is on the Boatyard. Was considering them so our non-diver family can stay on the beach waiting for us.

Then I wanted to have a tour guide pick us up & take us around the island.

Do you think that would work? The ship is there from 9am-6pm
