drpepr Posted September 11, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2006 Does Carnival offer any deals when booking back to back cruises...or do they just give you the same price as two individual bookings? thanks
LHP Posted September 11, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 11, 2006 I would imagine that it depends on the same factors what booking one cruise relys on: time of year, how full the ship is etc.
MissMokey Posted September 11, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 11, 2006 We just did a back to back celebration cruise on the Valor in May/June. We were treated as two bookings price-wise. We all stayed in the same cabins for the second cruise and so did not have to move. They gave us the option of taking a shore excursion, getting off the ship and doing whatever, or stying onboard. We chose to stay onboard. They invited use to a special room to go through our "embarkation." We were treated very nicely. They provided an assortment of breakfast pastries and beverages. The Purser brought our documentation and S&S cards. Another officer of the ship escorted us off the sip down to Customs and right back on again with new S&S cards. We also received an very nice fruit and cheese basket and an invitation to an exclusive reception with the Captain complete with drinks and snacks. So, they don't necessarily give you a better price but you do get treated pretty special.
luv2cruz44 Posted September 11, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2006 Oh Boy!! MissMokey, now I'm excited!! We have a B2B scheduled for next Spring, Hawaii & then Alaska. We had been told about the special debarkation & embarkation but did not know about the basket and Captains reception. Did you have "assigned at booking" or "guarantee" cabins. Were they the same grade?
tigermaroon2 Posted September 11, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 11, 2006 We met a retired couple of California on last week's Valor cruise and they were staying on this week for the Virgin Islands cruise. We talked extensively to them in Costa Maya and they were under the impression that the process would be just like the poster above said. We failed to ask if they got any kind of price break however. Rare silentbob007 Posted September 11, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 11, 2006 Interesting information. I'm looking at a back-to-back in May on the Fascination ... two steps closer to platinum. :)
kathy32259 Posted September 12, 2006 #8 Share Posted September 12, 2006 We are looking forward to our first btb starting Dec 30. on the Triumph. The first week is New Year's so no price break there - but the week of 1/6 - what a deal. Pricing really low. We also have the same balcony cabins for both weeks - no unpacking. :) I can't wait for the feeling I know I am gonna get on the last night of the first week - when everyone else is packing to go home and I know I have one more week at sea!!:D 7 nights is never enough for me - I wonder if 14 will be enough or will I want to stay even longer.....;) Bob - you are right - two steps closer to Platinum! kathy32259 Posted September 12, 2006 #10 Share Posted September 12, 2006 thanks for the info....i called them...they actually want more for the three day than i paid for the original 4 day....guess no b2b for me I noticed all the 3 days cost more than the 4 days - isn't that weird. You might be able to jump on another 4 day on another ship right before or after your Fascination cruise - or hey go all out and take the Triumph 7 days out of Miami. Some great rates there. I noticed some good sales going on - so keep looking. :)
rucruizin Posted September 12, 2006 #11 Share Posted September 12, 2006 Back2Back in 007 baby, We will save about $800...on airfare. 2 cruises one pre-night hotel, one cab fare to, and one fare from the port. That alone pay's about 50% of the second cruise.:D We will reach out Platinum status on the first leg of the cruise so we will be gettin lot's of perks. Rare silentbob007 Posted September 12, 2006 #14 Share Posted September 12, 2006 I think 3 day cruises are almost always more expensive than 4 day ones because the 3 day ones are over the weekend.
drpepr Posted September 13, 2006 Author #15 Share Posted September 13, 2006 i booked the b2b with the 3day/4day but they cant get me the same cabin...arrgh... will i have to take all my luggage off the ship and back on??
MissMokey Posted September 13, 2006 #16 Share Posted September 13, 2006 drpepr: no, you on't have to take it off, but you will have to pack it up and move to the next cabin. Otherwise, you will do debarkatin and embarkation the same as I described. Enjoy! Wish I were going!
