As long as you are up to date with all your standard ones (tetanus, etc) you should be ok - although a flu shot is always a good idea. My parter and I both had our flu shots the day before we left on our last cruise and we were Ok. There aren't really any special ones (like malaria or the like) that you need for the South Pacific. sarze Posted September 12, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 12, 2006 i just checked with my doc a few weeks ago and she said that so long as we only drink bottled water on the islands we only need the standard tetanus and she advises hep A & B if you plan on travelling overseas much as these are pretty easily transmitted (we already have these as we work in the medical field), there was one that was recommended for new caladonia (cant remember what it was) but she said dont worry about it cause it was something you would only get from drinking dirty water.
