Pier to airport Venice..any suggestions

We will be on Millie Barcelona to Venice Oct 5, 2006 and not sure how to get to airport from the ship. Our flight is late morning 11:30 AM. Does anyone have any suggestions besides transfers from Celebrity?

We took a water taxi from the airport to the Grand canal for 75.00 euros, water taxis are at the pier,they use cell phones. I think you could prearrange, it takes about35 minutes to the airport. I believe a taxi{land}charges 45 euros.

We stayed an extra day in a hotel near Piazzale Roma, so took the airport bus from P. Roma to the airport for 3E pp.

Do land taxi's go to the pier or do you have to pick them up somewhere else?

Another option is a private pick up. We've made arrangements through Venice Limousine based upon other recommendations here on the CC board. They've been very responsive via e-mail to deal with and have a website at www.venice-limousine.com

 

The site tells all services and they told me it's their practice to confirm the gate/port docking of the ship and will be at the gate terminal area for pick up.

I am also trying to find out how much a land taxi is from the Venice airport to the ship, I thought I read around 30E. Now here it says 45E. Does anyone have any actual recent experience with a land taxi from the airport to the port?
