Can someone tell me about these parties? Is it like th Captians coctail party and *free* drinks or just a great time on the ship. Thanks again all.

The Captain's Party is is held on the first formal night, it is a welcome aboard party. No real "sailaway" party... but the band generally plays while the ship is sailing (sometimes not)... just a great time on the ship.

Last time we "sailed away" I was still collared in the Carnival issue life jacket sandwiched in on the muster drill (necessary, I know) but I much prefer to actually "SEE" us leave shore. :(

 

In two weeks, I'm hoping we're done with the muster drill before the sail away. Carnival doesn't have the "party" some other ships do. I have to say Disney does a heckuva job at sail away!

 

;) But give the the Captain's party and past guest party any day!
