Pre cruise night in Fort Lauderdale on a budget

I know there are other threads here with lots of useful information on this matter. Flying in to FLL on Oct. 20 for a 1 night stay before our cruise. We would like something with free airport shuttle pick up and free shuttle service to the pier. Something close to the water and a free breakfast with some places within walking distance. Is all this possible for a budget of $100 or less? Any of your suggestions would be much appreciated. And please include which online booking service had that deal. Thank all of you.

We booked the AmeriSuites through valuetrips.com for $75/night. It has all the things you mentioned above, you can walk down to Port Everglades to see the ships (is a few blocks though) and there is shopping and quite a few resturants in the area. It's gotten mixed reviews on here but we too wanted something for a reasonable price and well located.

Have a great cruise.

p.s. You book this through valuetrips on a reservation basis but you don't actually pay for it till you get there so if you find something better you can cancel your booking.

You may want to try hotwire.com and select the FLL airport and beach areas. The Ft. Lauderdale beach area has several inexpensive hotels that mostly meet your requirements although I wasn't able to cross-reference them so you won't know which hotel until you book (and pay for it). Good luck!

Can you tell me which site you found the good price on for the Sleep Inn?

I love Hotwire but sometimes think I am risking it since I want to find a place that provides the free shuttle services this time.

I do appreciate everyones help, Glynna

Glynna, Try this site for the Sleep Inn.....

http://www.choicehotels.com/ires/en-US/html/HotelInfo?hotel=FL664

Or this one.....

http://stay123.com/

We are staying there in Nov. and went with the 1st site.... The 2nd came back and said no availability for what we wanted..... Note: With Stay123 you need to pay now, With the 1st you pay upon checkout.....

As long as the hotel shows the free shuttle amenity icon, you'll get it. Based on your stated requirements, look for the free breakfast, free airport shuttle, and maybe, the close to beach amenity icons. Good luck.

Whimsy

We can at least wave to one another as we board. No, we will be on the Sun Princess 10 night cruise leaving that same day. Have a great one and if you come across any ideas on a hotel for us, post it here, We are tight and may be just asking to much for the price we want to pay.

Thanks agian, I was checking HotWire earlier today before I posted and only found one hotel there that fit the description of what we are looking for. It was a 2 star. I will keep checking on it though.

Maybe you should read these reviews from Trip Advisor. I realize that most of them are over a year old, but they generally have one thing in common.

Just a heads up from an Eskimo Joe's fan.

Glynna, I am glad you were able to find something to suit your needs & budget. Have a great trip. Yes, Tripadvisor.com has alot of mixed reviews, but if everyone heeded all the negativity,no-one would stay anywhere! I was going to stay at the Embassy Suites Ft. Lauderdale, but there were some negative things said at trip advisor that had me wondering, but the threads here at this board let me know there were plenty of people happy with it. Also a lot of Hotels are still trying to recover from all the hurricanes last year, I think people need to be a little more tolerant & patient.:)Jaxson
