Leaving the ship once it reaches port

I am in the process of lining up private guides for our cruise; wondering how long it would take to get off the ship when it is in port? For example, if the ship reaches a port at 8:00 am, would meeting our guide at the pier at 9:30 am be sufficient time?

almost aways you would be off by 9:30 easily...

We've learned thru experience re private driver/guides all you need to do is advise them what time your ship is scheduled to port and they'll handle the rest.

For docked ports you can get off pretty much as soon as the ship is cleared, for tender ports you will likely have to wait until the ship tours are off first. They seem to let off a few tenders between the ship tour tenders, but you have to get there early for those. I would think 9:30 would be ok for either if you are supposed to dock at 8:00 am. As someone else said, the private guides usually know when you'll be off the ship.

Don't worry about getting off the ship it will not be a problem.

When the ship docked at 8, we were able to get off at 8. Touring earlier sometimes helps you avoid the crowds, although not always. No need to wait until 9:30. The guides know what to do.

That should be fine. We booked private tours and they would not let us off the ship until all ship tours were taken on the tenders. It was between 9-9:30a.

I've booked our guide for Pompeii/Naples now, and he was ok with 9:30. It is from Sorrento; I've just learned we need to take a tender, so 9:30 is perfect. Very excited!:D
