alrohaka Posted September 21, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2006 We will be in St. Lucia in November this year aboard P&O's Oriana and it seems we have a night in port as we won't be leaving until 10pm.! Any ideas on how to spend some time after dark in St. Lucia would be appreciated. We don't really want to just go back on board and have dinner and look at the lights! We are two adults in the 50's age group but would be up for anything which would give a true flavour of Caribbean life on the island. Something more, perhaps, than just a local restaurant meal although this would be an acceptable night out if it was really special. Special rather than very expensive though!! Thanks. Progress Posted September 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2006 Perhaps you may consider a full day pass at a resort on the island. If your ship comes in on a Friday or a Saturday you may visit one of two villages where the tourist mingle with the local in Gros-Islet and Anse- La-Raye on a Friday night or Dennery on a Saturday. The festivities at these villages begins rather early so you can have a ball while waiting to depart. Or you can organised an excursion during the day and maybe a sunset cruise on a catamaran while waiting to leave. There is so much to do when you visit St. Lucia that a day cruise won't be enough. My brother and his wife did a cruise for their honeymoon and this was how they discovered that a day on this island was not long live. There are quite a number of tour personnel you can consider for booking Tours and excursion for the island but I've got one in mind ***** maybe you can check them out.
