Boarding Questions in New Orleans

We are sailing 11/19 on the Sun out of New Orleans. We are coming in the night before and staying at the JW Marriott. Since we will be taking a cab to the ship - does anyone know if their are valets to help us with our bags to take on the ship? We are in a suite so are a little curious how the embarkation process works.

Let me know what you think about the Sun in October - by the way, I'm in Tulsa too! It's great to take Southwest to New Orleans for the cruise - so easy with kids

By the way, we are in a suite- have you experienced embarkation being in a suite? How does that work with the luggage, etc.

Hey 4hends…..

It's nice to know there are more cruisers from Tulsa.

There should be a separate line at the terminal for suite passengers for check-in and embarkation. You should receive luggage tags with your cruise documents for your bags. The tags will have the suite/cabin number on it just fill out the rest (name, address, etc.). Just leave your tagged bags with the porters and they will get it onto the ship to your suite/cabin.

I'll try to write a review of the Sun when I return.

Norwegian will be the first to use the new Erato Street Terminal/Parking Garage. Since it is new, I'm assuming that it will have all of the same features as the Julia Street Terminal (which is right next door) - porters, special check-in lines for Suite Passengers, etc.

For more info, check out http://www.portno.com , the official website of the port of New Orleans.....

That's great news! I knew the new terminal was under construction but had no idea it was completed.

Just saw this from the roll call posts:

E-mail answer directly from the Port of NO:

The NORWEGIAN SUN will be docked at the Erato St. Cruise Terminal. The

parking garage is in the same building. Go directly to the Erato

Parking Garage entrance. On the first floor of the garage (3rd floor of

the terminal building) you will be directed to the offloading area in

the middle of the floor. SeaCaps will take your checked baggage and

deliver them to the ship. After parking, you will take Elevators #3, 4

or 5 to the second floor check in and waiting area. Parking cost $14

per day, or $98 for the seven day cruise. Please have your ID and

cruise ticket available as you will need to show them to enter the

garage. BON VOYAGE.
