1st seating, how can you switch?

Chances are good that you will not be able to switch until you arrive onboard.

Once you get on the ship, go to the dining room right away. The maitre d' should be there - and you will want to speak to them and ask to switch. Some people say that a few bucks helps to secure the time you want, but there may be times where it absolutely is not possible. From many reviews I have read it is clear that you'll get further with the maitre d' if you are sweet than by hollering (NOT that I think you will do that, but I've read tons of horror stories on these boards where one person yells and doesn't get a table, and the next person is nice and gets what they want).

On Brilliance the man in front of us yelled at the maitre d' and his wife cried but they did not get the seating they wanted. We were just behind them, so we thought we would be nice. We didn't get the seating we wanted either!!! I guess there was just no room for switching folks around on the cruise...no matter what.

By the way, we saw that woman and man agin several times on the cruise and she often appeared to be crying or near tears. I decided that she had some serious problem and felt sorry for her.

But if you want to try to change your seating, go as fast as you can to the main dining room once you board so you can try to convince the maitre d' to change your assignment.

I'm a kindergarten teacher...I NEVER yell...LOL...anyway, I will ask politely. Another question, we did request a large table at either seating, because we like to meet other passengers, but did request no children (I bet you can guess why...5 days a week 7 hours a day) Are they pretty good about honoring those requests?
