asoutherngal Posted September 29, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2006 You should check with your cell phone service provider. I have Cingular and it will work in ports but cost is $1.99 per minute.
scubagirrl Posted September 29, 2006 #3 Share Posted September 29, 2006 You should check with your cell phone service provider. I have Cingular and it will work in ports but cost is $1.99 per minute. Cingular and T-mobile with GSM capabilities should work in the bahamas. But there are some dead spots... and rarely get incoming calls. You need to ask your provider to put International service on your plan before you go. Rates are $1.99 per minute, and you should turn off your phone when not in use. Incoming calls that are routed back to your voice mail get charges to your account.
trvlqueen Posted September 29, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 29, 2006 Good info ... and sometimes I use my cell phone to keep track of time! I guess I'll have to wear a watch  and turn my cell phone off to avoid the charges ... and to keep work from tracking me down.
