clerky96 Posted September 29, 2006 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2006 can you purchase airport transfers from the cruiseline? I thought I read here that you can do it, but I am not sure. Thanks. Donna
M&M Hayden Posted September 29, 2006 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2006 You can purchase transfers from the cruiseline, but it's usually cheaper to take a taxi. AND you don't have to wait for the bus to fill up before it leaves for the port.......
clerky96 Posted September 29, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted September 29, 2006 Thanks. I was asking because I am considering flying in the day of the cruise. If you are on a cruiseline transfer and your flight is late, will they wait on you like they do if they book the flight and it is late?
Wild Bill Posted September 29, 2006 #4 Share Posted September 29, 2006 They won't hold the ship for you. I would check on when the last transfer to the ship leaves, when you call to purchase transfers. Probably cheaper to get a taxi, unless you are flying into MCO (Orlando). cb at sea Posted September 29, 2006 #5 Share Posted September 29, 2006 It's truly much easier to grab a taxi--that way, you won't be arriving at port with a busload of others all trying to board! You shouldn't book a flight too close to boarding time, anyway! And no--the ship waits for no one, unless they booked you and there are alot of passenger's being held up. If RCI books you, and you are the only one on that late flight--they will get you to the next port--they won't hold the ship for 1 cabin!

wrp96 Posted September 29, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 29, 2006 You don't say where you are sailing from. In most ports it is easier and quicker to just grab a taxi than use RCCL transfers (Ft. Lauderdale and San Juan being two of those ports). But for some other ports like Galveston and MCO, getting a taxi would be very expensive so you would be better off getting cruise line transfers.
