OK-what am I doing wrong. I bought a Garmin nuvi 350 and on a recent Carribean cruise it only picked up occasionally. Do I need to leave it out on the balcony?

We bought it for an upcoming Med cruise (we still have to buy the European map), but now I am wondering if it is worth the additional expense.

As others said, you have to be outside to pick up satellite signals.

 

Take a look at the pictures I uploaded with this post. You'll see that I use some duct tape to attach my GPS carrying pouch to the balcony rail. That way, I do not need an external antenna. It works fine for me on our last two cruises...

Sorry if I didn't reply sooner. I was on a business trip and didn't have time to look at the Cruise Critics boards for a while...

 

I use a Canon Powershot A620 (7.1 Megapixel). It's very easy to use and it gives me very good results.
