Single Cruiser...Can You Have A good Time ?

Hey Kathy.....It is great this thread reappeared yesterday......Soooooo many people learned so much from the advice......Myself included.

Allen said it made a difference today for hm in another thread.

You will have to keep an eye on him at the black jack table Jeff - he missed a golden opportunity at the casino in Oct and I bet that won't happen again - him missing the opportunity that is......:eek:

 

We will be having dinner at the same table at 8:00 - you should try to join us!!

No I didn't, I started a new thread because I was looking for info. regarding the 1A's on the Holiday. :)

Even though I'm not a single cruiser, I thought I would send a post too. My DH does not like some of the shows. So I go myself. Sit by myself and have a good time. Sometimes I go to breakfast in the dining room by myself. DH and son do not get up as early as I do. Great way to meet other people. I even go to the casino by myself.

 

My first cruise back in the 1980's was with a singles group. I was alone most of the time. I had fun. I just had to get out and do things. You can have a fun time. Its just what you make happen.

I totally agree. I did my first solo last October and am doing it again this October. Having just returned from a cruise with family, I am looking forward to being solo again. So much easier to do things on my schedule :p Only problem might be getting back to my cabin after the cocktail party but I'm hoping one of the other Sinners can help me with that :D

No I didn't, I started a new thread because I was looking for info. regarding the 1A's on the Holiday. :)

Did a "search" earlier today......Pages of things that hook-up with....

Single occupancy cabins....

You might want to try that....maybe one of the headings will grab your attention.

Just go to search in the tool bar (or whatever it is called) and click on it. Then go to the key word on the left side and enter that....

Hope this helps if you haven't tried it already....

Jeff. I only had to read a few responses. I agree with what I read. I just got back from my first cruise and it was solo on the Carnival Legend. I spent alot of time on the Roll Call communicating with people on my cruise. We had a meet and greet the first day on the cruise. From then on, when one would see me, they would invite me to eat with them, go on excursions with them.

I had a great time and they helped that alot. Get to know your cruise passengers ahead of time. It helps.

 

Now I know that I can do it solo and have no problem looking for my next cruise. I only wish the cost was cheaper. But there are deals out there if you look for them, and this next time I will find them.

Due to me starting this thread 6 months ago or so I booked a cruise.

More than a few single cruisers from a group of (what sound like fun loving people) called "Saints & Sinners" talked me into cruising with them........

No ...they are not swingers....I think.....LOL

They started with just a few people just a few years ago and it has blossomed into at least 150 people. Male, female, married and single. All ages also.

I am joining them on the "Carnival Liberty" on the Oct. 13th sailing this year. The price was pretty good also. Got a 1A for $909.00 on an 8 night cruise (and was upgraded to a 4A) including a shipboard credit of $100.00. Plus champagne and chocolates in cabin and a private cocktail party for the group.

Guess I will take a nap after that....LOL:eek:

Check out the Saints and Sinners 3 thread and if it loks good.....the more the marrier.......:D

They have already set up a S & S 4 cruise for Oct 2008. It's a B2B for 9 days out of Miami with a great itin.......

Guess I'll have to book it..........:cool:

 

By the way...the Oct 13th cruise is through Cruise Critic. it is on the home page under group cruises....Check it out. They have made me and others feel very welcome....

If you reemember PINEVIEW01 ......I had a cruise booked with HAL in beginning of December...Had a medical emergancy the day before the cruise. I even had bought insurance for that cruise. Only second time in 18 cruises.

Is foresight sometimes 20/20 ?

I think I'm going to have to bring my wife on the October Liberty cruise so no more solo for me, but that is a great group to sail with solo. I accidentally booked the same cruise with them last Oct and turned around and booked the Jan cruise the week after we got back! :D

I love solo cruising. So easy to meet people. Especially now with this board. I've met some wonderful people through my roll calls.

 

I'm leaving this Thursday. Doing the Crown Princess out of PR. Then, in November doing the Destiny.
