cannot go on trip cause of sickness

My mother just went in the hospital yesterday and we are due to leave on the imagination on the 17th doctor's are telling her she cannot go, she did not get the insurance (stupid us) I know she wouldn't be able to get her money back but does anyone know if she can transfer her ticket to someone else. :confused:

She should be able to transfer the ticket. Call right away, I believe they charge about $30 to do the name change. DO NOT wait and try and do it at the port. Good luck! Hope your mom is okay.

I agree w/Pammy. DO IT NOW. (A friend did this a month or so ago, and it was $50 to do the name change - a small price to pay not to lose the entire cruise.) I know your mom hates to miss the cruise; hope she gets better soon.

What a bummer!! :( I hope you mom gets to feeling better soon!! Our son backed out of going on the Pride with us a couple of years ago, We paid $50 to have his name transferred. Good luck!!

Thank you all for your replys after asking many friends of my children if they would like to go it was almost impossible. Plane ticket were up from 170 to 500 dollars plus transfers and taxis so it would have been to expensive for most people to come up with in a few days. My mother is very depressed about not going she loves the ship's casinos. I did tell her i would take her to foxwoods in ct in a few weeks after i was back but she did say she just loves gambling on the ocean. I wish I could feel better about having a better time on this cruise. But i have 3 children who are so looking forward to this trip. My daughter is having a hard time with nana not going (she is 12) my daughter dances and my mother is always at her perfomances. Which is unfortunate because she is dancing aboard this ship two nights and in ochos rios jamaica 1 day so it is disapointing.Her doctor did say she should be able with a doctors note to get some money back but I do not know how true that is.:eek:

I have changed my cruise dates (for a small fee), if the tickets are not already printed maybe she can do that. I don't know about changing the name on the ticket.
