cruisejunkie4ever Posted October 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 5, 2006 Hi All, Just wanted to see if anybody has seen any good deals for this time. I have tried Priceline with no luck up to $110 for 3 & 4*. Last year I did pretty good and got the Hyatt for $90 a few weeks before (last years cruise was 1/15). I did have a back up the JW was offering a AAA discount 129 per night! this year seems all the prices are up, even the Holiday Inn Bay side is $179 + tax. Any info would be great! Thanks, Voyager 1/13/07

You aren't likely to see anything cheaper for that level a hotel. The $179 isn't too bad for the HI Bayside.

dmk Posted October 7, 2006 #4 Share Posted October 7, 2006 I had been trying forever to get a miami hotel for jan20. Yesterday, I got the 4* Wyndham in Coconut Grove for $100.00. I see someone else got it yesterday for $99. It might be a good idea to try again. Here's how I bid: 4* coral gables...$70 downtown...$80 miami lakes...$90 dadeland...$100. Let me know if you are successful.
cfs2000 Posted October 10, 2006 #5 Share Posted October 10, 2006 I been trying for 2/11/07 and have had no luck under $100. I think it is probably too early to get a good price, but I really don't know.
shoshona2 Posted October 10, 2006 #6 Share Posted October 10, 2006 We have kids living in the greater Miami area and go there about four times a year. Prices have skyrocketed at all the hotels even the Hilton Garden Inn and Courtyard by Marriott. The only time I have been able to get a reservation for under $140 was during hot, hot, hot, August. We used to pay $80 per night. So, if you see a price that looks good, book it!!! We are now using hotel points when we can't get a good rate at a four star hotel anywhere in the World. People are travelling again and the rates are going way up!!!!! January and February is THE SEASON for Florida!!!!!
wrp96 Posted October 10, 2006 #7 Share Posted October 10, 2006 The Super Bowl is being held in Miami 2/4/07. Hotels for that weekend have been sold out for months, plus the weekends leading up to the Super Bowl and the weekend after (I know I'm sailing that weekend). January and February are normally big cruise months in South Florida, and with the Super Bowl hotels are either full or are charging a lot more than they have in years past.
