Key West on a Friday morning.....

what will be open???? I think we dock at something like 7-8am and are gone by 2pm!!!! What will be buzzing that early....I see some things don't open till about 10am.....is this a good day to sleep in a bit and then come ashore....or what???

You are correct about not much being open at that time, Sandi.

 

If it were me, I would take a Conch Tour Train (or Trolley) tour during that time which will help you decide what you would like to visit in more detail later. The train tour only takes 90 mins and gives and excellent overview of Key West for first-timers.
