driker2 Posted October 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 12, 2006 I have heard that the Norwegian Jewel (and subsequent sister ships) will have wired Internet access in the suites. Has anyone experienced this? If the story is true, does your laptop need a wired network card to connect? Is the connection free or are they still charging by the minute? Markandrews Posted October 12, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2006 I used the PC and Internet connection the was provided in my cabin on the Jewel. The speed was good as compared to other ships. I think I could have unplugged the provided notebook and connected my own with no problems.

Unless you computer is more than a few years old, it probably already has a wired connection (ethernet). Even if you have wireless, it makes sense to travel with a cable just in case. dwrist Posted October 13, 2006 #8 Share Posted October 13, 2006 The use of the computer is free---to use the computer to connect to the internet is still a charge.:) Even in an AA suite. We were in an AA on the Star in August.
Markandrews Posted October 14, 2006 #9 Share Posted October 14, 2006 Sorry, I did not intend to imply that internet time was free.
