Bananas??

What a weird thread title, hey. Anyway I am wondering that since Bananas around here are so expensive are they available on the ships.

 

Did anybody notice them on the last few cruises?

Hi Aussie.

We had them in July out of Auckland to Fiji, but they were from the Phillipines. have to add, they were lovely. all the Aussies on board took full advantage.

I don't know if they would have them out of Australia just yet. I love them too.

there's always plenty of fruits to chose from at the buffet.

Yep, we had the smaller bananas at the buffet everyday. It had been so long since I had had a banana that I was stockpiling them and taking them back to my cabin for midnight snacks. :o

 

They were so sweet and delicious. And there was plenty of them!

Ever since I got to the States, I've been catching up on my banana consumption. I bought them for 49c a pound in a supermarket in Anaheim. I ended up getting 2 kilos of bananas for around $4US.

On the boat we ordered a fruit basket (free of charge), and ordered a few bananas, oranges, apples and pears. We have put them in the fridge, and just go to the fridge whenever we want a piece of fruit.

What a shame I can't bring any bananas back home to Australia.

Oh yes, I'm hanging out for bananas. I haven't had one since the March cyclone knocked out the main supply at Innisfail. Wouldn't mind a bit of papaya too. Is the longish "red" variety about?

I had never seen so many bananas as we had on our cruise in September - well not for awhile anyway. Don't worry - you'll have heaps of them.
