Seriously, I am so glad I discovered these boards earlier this year, and I am looking forward to meeting you and others on the April crossing and on the world cruise/segments. I am just not sure how the "meeting" happens. Keep me informed, and all the best to you.

Bobby:

What a group of us CC folks did this past January - for QE2's WB Crossing - was to meet at 10 PM in the evening of sailing day in The Chart Room, and then again at 7 PM the first full day at sea in the Champagne Bar. This worked really well.

As you get closer to arriving in Southampton, check out the thread for our crossing, and you'll without a doubt see something about a get-together.

Tom, I am so excited about a big gathering. It will be a shot of adrenaline after almost 100 days with Bea and her cohorts! I am concerned that if I do not get connected to the boards that I will miss the festivities. I am counting on 10PM in the Chart Room first night out from Southampton and then 7pm the next night in the PG bar. I also hang out in the Yacht Club in the evenings...late. So looking forward to meeting you and the gang!

That sounds like a plan. I'm quite certain that a group of us will meet at those locations, those nights. There's seven or eight of us from the January 2006 QE2 crossing who are making the April crossing, and I'm certain that I can sweet-talk them (if not all the others from our April crossing Roll Call on the other thread) into it.

Just as a back-up plan, my wife Jan and I will be in Cabin 4192, boarding Southampton April 21. Leave a note with your cabin # under the door of our cabin/in our cabin just in case we need to give you updated info.

Otherwise, I look forward to a few more exchanges with you here on the Boards as we get closer to your sailing day in January.

Tom

PS If you're a patron of The Yacht Club, we'll be bumping into you there too !!

Tom,

4192 was my cabin the first time I ever sailed aboard QE2! Definitely one of the larger inside cabins. I didn't miss the window even though it was a transatlantic crossing. All right, it was the first time I'd ever been on a ship so I really didn't have much basis for comparison.

We're looking forward to that cabin. We really enjoy getting a new cabin each time, and comparing each one to previous cabins. I know that some passengers develop a fondness for a specific cabin, and request it time after time. I understand that. We prefer the variety.

We'll definitely say "hello" to 4192 for you in April !

Have a great time in January, and leave a little rough weather/stormy seas for those of waiting until April !!

Tom, thanks so much for the back-up plan. I hear that internet is dicey and expensive on the ship. By the time April rolls around, I may be broke from the bar bill, the dry cleaners, the shore excursions, etc., and in a steward's uniform cleaning cabins to pay my bill.

I look forwar to meeting the group... and maybe someone (hint) will explain what a "funnel run" is... I haven't forgotten that!!

Bobby1119,

I was introduced to the funnel deck, late one night when the sun had set and the stars were out l was shown this place, a place we speak of in hushed tones;) , my escort an officer and a gentleman, asked me to close my eyes for a moment, which l did, and when l turned round, low what a sight l did see when l opened my eyes, There it was in all its glory big and bright and glistening red, l extended my hand and touched this:eek: it was throbbing, such power could only be imagined, were were racing along at 27 knots and so was my heart:rolleyes: . It was a sight to remember, and we were not alone!!!! there were some others in the area, with the same idea...

Im quite sure this is not the same as the "funnel run" but ever since that night l cant help but see the Funnel in a whole new light:eek:

Bobby, your onboard for 3 months, if this happens to you, CALL ME:D

ROTFLMAO

OK, Bobby - we're all set and we'll see you on QE2 on April 21st !!

In the meantime, "I'll see you" on the "QE2 Atlantic Crossings January 2007 & April 2007" thread before you board our favorite ship in January !
