Nile and Lake Nasser cruise

Has anyone been/going on an Egyptian tour which cruised on the Nile and Lake Nasser? We are thinking of a trip Fall of 07 and would like some feedback on food, heat, amount of walking, room sizes on the ships, etc.

 

Or, if anyone is interested in joining us, we have found a tour that looks like a pretty good itinerary/price that we will be doing more checking on before we book.

If you mean the Nile River below the High Aswan Dam, this is not possible. There are no locks in the dam, so a ship cannot cruise on both sides.

 

There are about 330 ships that cruise the Nile River in the area from Luxor to Aswan. We were on one with Grand Circle in March and had a wonderful time.

Hi Paul. No, actually, we change ships in Aswan - fly to Abu Simbel and take 3 night cruise on Lake Nasser.

OH, and just wanted to ask - did you have any difficulty with all the walking? Is it very strenuous?? My husband uses a cane for long distances and doesn't walk very fast (not very slow, just not very fast). Will he have any problems?

On our trip there was a fair amount of walking. There was one man in our group with a cane. He did fine. There were lots of stops. You could usually find a rock to sit on. The Program Director took it easy, so it was not a rapid walk.
