Is the water in the Bahamas safe to drink. I've heard different responses. What about raw fruits and veggies?

 

The water is safe, but not tasty. You won't get sick from eating fruits and vegetables. Hotels and restaurants use filtered waters, and Paradise Island even has thier own water plant.

 

You can buy bottled water everywhere around town. In Nassau, a small bottle for $1 or liter for $2. Paradise Island, a small bottle is $3.50 and a litre $6-8.

Pick some up outside the dock or by the wharf. There's plenty of independent vendors hawking bottled water.
