paige78 Posted October 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2006 Help - We are leaving on this Friday. We return to Miami next Sat the 28th. We are flying out of Ft. Lauderdale on Sunday the 29th. Anyone know of a car rental company where we can pick up at the Port in Miami and return at the airport in Fort Lauderdale. I've been calling around and a lot of these car rental companies want to change a crazy amount because we are returning at a differnt location. Has anyone done this before? Thank you in advance. Maryandi Posted October 16, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2006 Sure we do it alot. We have done 1 way for over 1,000 miles and from West Palm to Ft. Laud., FL The Florida rentals run from $30-60 a day depending on the car and time of the year. What kind of quote was a 'crazy amount' ? signman Posted October 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2006 I use Alamo. Just go to http://www.alamo.com, select Port of Miami as your pick-up location and FLL as your return. But be sure to call to confirm that they are running the shuttle from the pier to the Port of Miami location. Cost should be in the $40/day range. Piece of cake. paige78 Posted October 16, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted October 16, 2006 Please tell me who you have used in the past then Maryann? I've been getting quotes of $109(hertz) and $97(enterprise). And, Almo told me that they do not pick up at the Port of Miami. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
