haras Posted October 22, 2006 #1 Share Posted October 22, 2006 to have an impromtu wedding on board? without getting a marriage license or a blood test done before hand? Just curious if anyone has gone on a ship, and had a spur of the moment wedding.
jkellerfsu Posted October 22, 2006 #2 Share Posted October 22, 2006 w/o a marriage license you aren't married. Blood test isn't necessary. And depending on the ship you may need to schedule an officiant on to board for the wedding....it isn't like Vegas ;)
Raizin Posted October 24, 2006 #3 Share Posted October 24, 2006 I am not sure about all cruise lines, but... Royal Caribbean offers a "symbolic wedding" which looks like a real wedding, but without the marriage license. If you want it be an official wedding, you need a marriage license from the city/state or non-US country where you plan to tie the knot. every place has their own rules & fees. Plus, if you were married before, you'll need certified copy of divorce decree or death certificate (if spouse died). Example Rules/Fees: =============== Key West/FL: http://www.clerk-of-the-court.com/Other/MarriageLic.html Cayman Islands: http://www.jollyrogercayman.com/web%20pages/Getting%20Married.htm
