dlopez5011 Posted November 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2006 I'm booked on the 2006 Thanksgiving week cruise down to the Mexican Riviera. Will I need to show a valid passport prior to boarding the ship, or will a certified birth certificate and drivers license be sufficient?
big_duck Posted November 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2006 Depends on where you are from.

big_duck Posted November 3, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 3, 2006 Original state issued birth certificate and Government issued photo ID. If you have a passport take it. Makes things a lot easier. For going into ports, you just need your S&S card and your photo ID.

robintennis Posted November 3, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 3, 2006 If you are from Canada....you will need an original birth certificate and a drivers license or Province Issue ID. Effective January 2007 you will need a passport. On Carnival's website they may relax the passport issue, however, the Airlines are saying January /07 for boarding a plane. So if you don't have one...get one before the mad rush. Robin
debiz1123 Posted November 3, 2006 #7 Share Posted November 3, 2006 I'm from San Diego. Born in Los Angeles County. Just took this cruise last week, used my birth certificate, no problems what so ever, they glanced at it and waved me on through! Debbie
