Mintty Girl Posted November 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 4, 2006 Does anyone know wheather it is possible to just order a bottle of bubbly to be waiting in our cabin on arrival on the ship without doing the complete special occasion package?:)
chrysalis Posted November 4, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2006 yes....look at the "cruise answer book" on the princess website...the wine list, and you can pre-order from there
bubbalu Posted November 4, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 4, 2006 I tried that once. It wasn't waiting. Had to remind the room steward. Of course, the steward on that particular cruise was not a very good one so it could have been the steward. We found that just ordering it as soon as you get on board works pretty well. jerwick Posted November 4, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2006 On recent cruises, they put a notice/gift certificate type card in stateroom specifying what you had received from the pre-order form. Then you call room service. On our Mexican cruise it took forever to get, room service was very busy.
Hornet Posted November 4, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 4, 2006 Or you could just bring it onboard with you and chill it in the bucket of ice in your refrig. On our last cruise we also just got the card saying to call room service for our pre-ordered wine.
britneyangel Posted November 4, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2006 I just got back on a cruise where i pre-ordered the champagne. Yes, they leave a little gift note and a message to call room service or take it to the dining room. We called room service and it took about 30-40 mins to get there. If you want it for sailing, make sure you call for it before the muster drill, or you might not have it in time.
Psee Posted November 4, 2006 #7 Share Posted November 4, 2006 We've tried this several times for wine and liquor (before they discontinued it) and never got it in the room until later in the evening or the next day. Now we just take it with us to be sure.
Mintty Girl Posted November 5, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted November 5, 2006 Many thanks, I think that we will buy some at the Airport, and just ask for the ice bucket.
threejs Posted November 5, 2006 #9 Share Posted November 5, 2006 If you are taking a taxi to the port in Fort Lauderdale, just ask the driver to go by Publix 1st. Would be much cheaper there.
