We are thinking about booking the Wind August 2005. Does anyone have info/pictures on the Category AB Penthouse? I have looked at various online sites and cannot find anything more than a description. Any info would be appreciated!

I stayed in an AB last May on the Wind to Alaska. We found it to be a good size. When you walk in the cabin there is a long hallway on one side there is a small bathroom (there is a bathtub). The bathroom seemed to be the same size (except for the bathtub) as the CC we stayed in the year before. On the otherside of the hallway there is a small full length closest. Further down the hall there is a walk in closet with hanging space, shelves and safe. Off of the walk in closest is the main area. Along one wall is a small fridge, cabinet with bar glasses, cd, dvd player (movie library) tv, desk area with chair and mirror and a few drawers.

Across the room is a long couch (it was at least 6 feet long), a few chairs, two ottomans and a coffee table. Off to the side is the bedroom area. It is not separate but is curtained off from the main area. There is no balcony, but there are two forward facing windows. There is open deck space in front, so you can easily be outside in a few seconds. There are a two benches out front. During the day no one could see in, but if you have lights on at night you can see in a bit. (we kept checking!) There was rarely anyone that used the forward deck area so it was not a concern for us.

One thing about the location to keep in mind, although it was never a problem for us, but some complained about the access to the area. It is forward of the showroom and the casino. So to get anywhere on that deck you have to walk through the showroom (not always possible it there is a rehersal or show). If you are on one of the AB suites on the deck where the restaurant is you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the back of the ship (there is a walkway, so you are not dodging tables).

We also had butler and concierge service. I don't think I have any really good pictures of the cabin itself, but I have seem some on the internet. I will try to find the links and post them for you.
