Revelation Tours Michel Villefranche the best!

Recommended Posts

If you haven't booked your tour for Villefranche I would highly recommend Michel at Revelation Tours. We just got back from the Med. and he was the best tour guide of all. He was flexible, very informative through the whole tour, fun, friendly, drove great. I can't say enough good things about him. I wish we could have had him at every port. He was so patient. We were to meet him at the port at 10:00 and my dad didn't stay with our group and my mom was on the ship looking for him and needless to stay it took a half hour to get everyone together and he was so patient and we still had plenty of time for all or stops St Paul de Vence, Nice, Eze and Nonaco/Monte-Carlo. Hi Trish,

Glad to hear you had such an enjoyable time. We are booked with Revelation Tours, not sure if Michel will be our driver, I'll keep my fingers crossed, but from what I've read, all his drivers are great. We have a 4-5hr tour booked and I have a few questions for you ;) .....We are starting from the port of Villefranche and we plan to visit St. Paul de Vence and Monaco/Monte Carlo.....how much time would you allow in each place? ....We will be ending our tour in Nice to see it on our own. Would you recommend not misssing Eze? What time are the shops in Villefranche open until? We dock at 10am and start our tour at noon, do you think we should see Villefranche in the morning before we leave or wait until our return in the evening?? Sorry for all the questions... just want to be sure we make the most of our short ime in port!! We want to see the highlights and enjoy shopping for crafts and items special to the area.

Thanks for any information,

Becky

We agree with Trishs- Our day with Revelation-Tours was our best tour day although we also had fantastic tours at all other ports of call...Michel was an extremely patient, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic licensed tour guide, and we were very happy with our choice...With a discount, his price was much more reasonable than those of the other tour companies...

Bec 2629, good idea to not have the tour until noon; you can have about 45 minutes to walk around VilleFranche or enjoy at a cafe there, before the tour starts...Don't miss St Paul de Vence and Monaco...Nice promenade and beach are very nice (my favorite one because of the ambience) and can be done last...(We had a 9 hour tour with Michel, so we also went to beach/promenade at Cannes Film Festival; we started out at Cannnes, then st Paul de Vence, then Nice, then Monaco...somewhat rushed if Cannes is included in the itinerary)...

Hi Becky,

That sounds great. St. Paul de vince was great. We spent more time there. Monte Carlo was nice to see but with what we like we didn't need much time I think we took about 45 min by the casino and gardens but we didn't need that much time. We weren't rushed at all in any of our places.

I would spend more time in St Paul de Vince. As far as Eze. It was great too but there was a climb and I think if you go to St Paul de Vince you don't have to do Eze.

I think its a great time to be drooped off in Nice. Knowing what I know now I would have spent more time there. No fault but my own. Michel sugested longer. He is so great at dropping you off right where you need to go. Have Michel tell you the oldest place that is still in business for olive oil and the other store for the chocolate. I cooked with the olive oil and it was great. Good price too. I got the metal can so it wouldn't break. I got chocolate covered almonds with the powder chocolate at the oldest chocolate store. I was going to give as gift but we at them. I looked for the rest of our tour stops and couldn't find any nearly as good if at all.

I would still go early for your tour then you might still see the fresh flowers in Nice and the temp will be cooler.

Thank you both for the advice. It sounds like it will be a wonderful day. We'll try to be sure to see the flower mart early, I want pictures and fresh flowers to put in our cabin :) Looks like we'll be stopping for chocolate, too :D

We leave in 4 days  so excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks again,

Becky

P.S. I'm going to email Michel and request him to be our driver if I'm not too late.

  • 3 weeks later...

Our day with Michel was perfect. He is a friendly, easy going gentleman. He was so knowledgeable and accomadating. My husband can be a little critical and he didn't have one bad thing to say about him or our day. Starting at noon worked perfect as Villefranche is small and quaint and we had time to see it. Monte Carlo is a nice stop but we didn't need too much time there. Nice was nice ;) but St Paul de Vence was the highlight by far. Even the kids enjoyed it there. Marble gutters!!! We did get to Nice too late for the flowers but we were okay with that since everything else was so great.
