Elation 4-nt on 11/30

Anyone done this itinerary yet? From Port Canaveral to Freeport, then Nassau and back. We are going 11/30 - 12/4 and would like any tips, menu or dining ideas, must do's on the ship, etc. We can't wait!! 4 total in our group and last minute (today) bookings! :) Can't decide if I want to be really active or just chill out.... your feedback very appreciated!!

Take a look at the Roll Call for this date and ship.

 

Also take a look at the Ports of Call board for ideas of things to do - We envisioned doing nothing, but since reading the boards we have decided it would be a shame not to explore Nassau and Freeport.

 

We are a group of 9 women, no kids or husbands allowed.

 

I took great ideas from the boards and let our group know what there is to do. Some may do all, a few things or nothing.

Thanks, Soccerfan - we are doing research on the boards and getting great ideas! I know that whatever we choose, it will be better than being at work!! An all girl trip sounds great! For our group it is me and DH and my parents. We've been traveling with them for the past ten years off and on and always have a great time! :-) We'll watch out for your group - I'm sure it won't be hard to find you -- 9 women ready for fun - maybe we'll join you in the disco! That's my kind of trip! Have fun!

THe Atlantis is a must see if you've never been there--Nassau--also Senior Frogs is a great place to drink and people watch.

 

Was only in Freeport once and it was verry chilly--just walked around the little shops by the pier.

 

We just got back last week- we did a dif itin though, Food was very good- esp the prime rib and filet mignon.

 

The deli has great sammys and the pizza is yummy.

We just returned from that trip (11/1-11/6) We were 7 family members, ranging in age from 10 to 75, and we had a great time. The food was very good, both in the buffet and sit-down dinners. I don't tend to be too impressed with cruise "shows" but my mother-in-law loved them. So, that depends on your taste, I guess.

The pool deck was not too crowded, except on the "at sea" day, which was also our sunniest day. The typical "saving chairs" routine went on all day, yet I still found people very friendly and helpful.

The staff were all great. Very friendly and always helpful. Our cabin (R-100) was a bit small but very comfortable.

In Freeport, we went on the Sail and Snorkel excursion. It was about a 15 minute ride by bus. The boat was a bit shabby, but the crew was really friendly and the snorkeling was pretty good. They served burgers and dogs, chips and candy. Also beer, rum drinks, soda and water. (cash)

In Nassau the day was incredibly windy, and all sea excursions were cancelled. Sadly, we were forced to shop in town, then hang out at "Frogs" and have a few drinks!!! :)

All in all, we had an excellen time. I'm sure you will, too!

I just booked the same cruise too (on Wednesday) and since then I added the close dolphin encounter and I booked a night at Atlantis so we could use their facilities during the day.

 

I guess the benefit of booking this last minute is not having to wait so long for your cruise. :D

I would double-check the Atlantis excursion. The one I read about was a tour of Atlantis, but you couldn't use the pool or beach facilities. It could be different for your itinerary, but you might want to check it out just to be sure.

Michele, FYI:This is how the tour is described on the Carnival site;

• Travel by ferry from Prince George dock, west to Arawak Cay.
  
• Cruise along to Ft. Montague observing the many historical points of interest and the area’s local flavor.
  
• Listen as your guide points out some of the famous properties and homes along the way.
  
• Arrive at Paradise Island and proceed on foot to the world-renowned Atlantis Resort (approximately 10 minutes).
  
• Be escorted (45-minutes) through the spectacular “Atlantis Dig”. See the tens of thousands of exotic fish and sea creatures as well as the ancient artifacts of Atlantis.
  
• Visit the Atlantis Casino and Crystal shopping court.

Note: For those guests wishing to stay, boats will return back to your ship at regular intervals.

You will not have access to the Atlantis pool, beach or hotel facilities. Guests with walking difficulties or those using wheelchairs are advised to speak with our Staff onboard prior to booking this excursion.

Thanks Sarah, I guess I should have been more specific. I actually booked a room for the NIGHT at Atlantis. I did not go through Carnival. I do want to use the water slides and the beach area...so I didn't want to go with Carnival...pay the charge times 4 and not be able to have access to all of the grounds.

 

So when we arrive on the Saturday...we will go straight to Atlantis (probably by taxi or water taxi) and check in to our room. Then we will spend the rest of the day there. And if the kids need a nap, I can take them back to the room for one.

 

I had read on CC that's it's the best way to experience Atlantis is to just check into it or the Comfort Inn next door. :D
