When I can book for 2009?

Does anyone know how much prior to a sailing the rooms become available for booking? I want to book for Presidents' Week 2009 as soon as the rates come out.

If you use a TA, ask them to let you know when that happens. We're trying to book for July '08 (Tahiti-Marquesas) and are still waiting for them to open up that period. I'm guessing you have some time ahead of you yet.

I would guess 18 -24 months before the cruise, depending on the itinerary. Generally, the Caribbean and Alaskan itineraries are released first with the Med, Pacific and exotics released later. My guess is that next Spring (May?), you'll be able to book your '09 Caribbean cruise.

We're waiting (rather impatiently) for the Med cruises to come out for 2008 and we were told they won't be released until April 2007. So, depending on WHERE you want to go, you could have a bit of a wait for dates in 2009.

Princess generally releases new schedules in the late spring/early summer, and they do it by region (i.e., Europe, Mexican Riviera, Gulf of Alaska), and they open for booking a couple of weeks after the schedule is announced. Last spring/summer, they announced the schedules for roughly May 2007-April 2008 (although, I don't think all April 2008 sailings have been announced--it depends on the region you're going to). So, the next round of announcements should be for roughly May 2008-April 2009. That would mean that the Presidents' Day 2009 sailings should be announced in this next batch, as would the 2008 Med sailings.

I just booked this week a cruise to Tahait/Cook Islands for April 2008. They don't seem to have anything available beyond that at the moment.

I booked a panama canal cruise for april 2008 just this past september so I would imagine that 2009 would be opened sometime the first quarter of 2007?

chrysalis - I don't know anything about a 2009 World Cruise...thats why I am asking and want any info I can get on it. But I figure if the 2008 one sells out, they may do a 2009...keeping my fingers crossed! :(

hillslife...we are with you...I retire in 2007 and already have a Princess cruise set on the Sapphire...but we have our T/A watching for the 2009 world cruise providing there is one....we told him book a cabin as soon as he can....
