? about miami pier

we are trying to plan a short cruise for spring break and we were looking at the majesty of the seas leaving out of miami. how far is the pier in miami from all of the attractions? i've never been to miami and we were thinking about staying down there a few days before we leave. any advice on hotels or things to do?

We just stayed at the Intercontinental in Miami. It's 2 blocks from the Bayside Marketplace and the hotel was beautiful. We paid $95 per night using priceline. It was only a $7.00 cab ride to the port.

I suppose it depends on what you define as the attractions in Miami. The port is about 20 minutes from the airport, about 10 minutes from South Beach, about 15-20 minutes from Coconut Grove, about 30 minutes from Ft. Lauderdale, 10-15 minutes from Key Biscayne, and less than 5 minutes from downtown. As for hotels, I enjoy the Marriott Biscayne Bay (get a bayview room to see the port from your room). I have also stayed at the Intercontinental, which was great and very convenient to Bayside. If your inclines, there are plenty of nice places to stay in South Beach.
