MrsPete Posted November 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2006 I'm also interested in renting scooters on Grand Caymans. We'll be on Mariner, and we'll dock at Georgetown. Any advice on WHERE to rent scooters very near the pier? Thanks.
Capt_BJ Posted November 14, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 14, 2006 I recommend not example: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=101123 even if you ride a Harley every day of the week, you are probably not experienced with a) driving on the left b) island drivers (Cayman is better than most islands but still not like home) c) underpowered, underbraked and questionably maintained bikes d) lots of sand patches for extra lubrication...tourists hopping off sidewalks forgetting about left side drivers..."look at that" distractions...and let's not forget the tmptation of an island libation.... If you fall and are lucky you just get to experience a vacation or road rash. If not lucky.... I did it in my youth .... 'twas dumb.... since that time had to send too many folks home busted up from their 'fun'
Garv816 Posted November 14, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted November 14, 2006 Good to know...missed that thread. I think we'll be doing something else on the island. Perhaps lay on the beach and eat rum cakes instead.;) Thanks for the info!
