Rare Copper10-8 Posted November 15, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2006 Does the Oosterdam tender in Puerta Vallarta? Thank you! Yes, unless she's lucky enough to get one of two berths at the pier. It's a relatively short tender ride, about 10-15 minutestops
jtl513 Posted November 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 15, 2006 Does the Oosterdam tender in Puerta Vallarta? Thank you! HAL says "possible tender". Check www.cruisecal.com to see how many ships will be there the day you are. If you're just one of two, probably no tender!
pvlover Posted November 15, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 15, 2006 Unfortunately there is only one accessible dock here currently. The other one is undergoing a slowexpansion. The O was here yesterday, and docked out. Princess has a mega ship in on Tuesday, and Carnival on Wednesday. They get priority. The Carnival ship, in particular, since it is the only ship that comes here year-round. In summary, the O is almost certain to dock out for the duration of the season. Maybe better news by the 2007 winter season.
BruceMuzz Posted November 15, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 15, 2006 In very predictable fashion, the new PV pier that was supposed to be finished 2 years ago is still not complete. The latest rumor is that it will be ready for Oosterdam to use just before Christmas 2006. Considering the people who are building it, don't be too surprised if it si not ready on time - again. ASue Posted November 15, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 15, 2006 We were just on the Zaandam two weeks ago and were along side the Oosterdam. The Dawn Princess was docked and there was also a RCCL ship there. The Dawn pulled out and the RCCL ship pulled into the dock. People who went ashore said no problems with the tender service. Rare Copper10-8 Posted November 15, 2006 #8 Share Posted November 15, 2006 is that a non stop tender ride lol Hey Lou, it makes one stop at an anchorage in the bay to take on provisions (beer, wine for smuggling adults and DVD players and I-pods for fuzzy children) for the long ride back;)
