richnorto Posted November 19, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 19, 2006 I came across a few tidbits of info about snorkeling around Dragon Bay, Molineire Point and Sculpture Park (the submerged sculptures in Molineire Bay). I was wondering about getting a water taxi to Dragon Bay or Molniere Point and if you can swim/snorkel or walk easily from one to the other. On the map it looks like a thin strip of land separating the two bays (the point I assume is Molinere point which is where the reef is?). Also if anyone has done this, how far out are the sculptures, how far out is the best snorkeling and in which area. This is our first trip to Grenada. Thanks! I know they are new, but they look fascinating and I would like to take my family to see them.

richnorto Posted November 21, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted November 21, 2006 At the risk of sounding like I'm talking to myself - I am aren't I?;) I've done some more digging which may help someone give me an educated guess. discussion of sculpture park and directions from Dragon Bay http://grenadatravelforum.com/index.php?showtopic=1936 map showing location of sculptures and Dragon Bay area http://www.underwatersculpture.com/location.html recent pics of Sculpture park - one labeled "snorkelling Grace Reef" http://divegrenada.com/photo/thumbnails.php?album=5 It looks/sounds like we will be able to walk to Molineire Bay and snorkel to the sculptures after being dropped off at Dragon Bay. Can we take a water taxi from the dock to Dragon Bay or should we just plan on a regular taxi? Has anyone been there and recognize the area, the point (reef?) and have an idea of how far? Has anybody snorkelled Dragon Bay recently and is there much to see? I read somewhere that the hurricanes have caused a lot of damage to the reef. Thanks for your help/ insight! denboy Posted November 21, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 21, 2006 As far as I am aware the water taxis only take people to the beach at Grand Anse. You will need to take a regular taxi to get to Moliniere and the drive will probably take 20/30 minutes.
