Leaving Tahiti - different rules at airport

Southwest

Recommended Posts

This information may exist somewhere in a post, but I thought I'd put it out just in case it isn't. We completed our Tahitian cruise a few weeks ago and I learned that airport rules are different in Papeete. In the US you can buy a bottle of water after you pass security and take it on the plane with you. In Tahiti, if you buy a bottle of water after you pass security you need to drink it before you board the plane. They will take it away from you as you board. They don't tell you when you buy it, so buyer beware. It was only a couple of bucks, so no big deal, but I wish I had known ahead of time because I'd have drank it all instead of a couple of sips. Just an FYI that you may find helpful. Happy cruising everyone.
