We tend to be a bit defensive when it comes to humour, since we are not widely recognized for ours. We export the best of our comics to the U.S. On the other hand the tide might be changing since Quebec has just been declared a nation within Canada, which is pretty darn funny...

...I say to you with humour and politeness.

As for escargots, ditto here, but I have been known to order them just to dunk my bread into the garlic butter. The little critters remain in their cozy indentations and I am happy and garlc-smelling! (I am telling you this with polite good humour.)

~neither SeaShark nor I believe in conspiracy theories. Conspiracies, however, are a different matter.~

Coming at you from the "nation":D Plenty of humor here and love the escargot.

SG also is aware that Quebecers have a great sense of humour.:p

I actually think most of us eat escargot for the garlic butter.

Wonder why I take the time to post – it is that evil Saeco espresso machine in the cabin. I found out this morning I am addicted. The machine and I had it out earlier and I won. Made my first double of the day and up came a big ? and an error message dregtray full. What and where is that. I found out how to take the machine apart in a desperate effort to get more espresso.I am back. Had to go push the button on the Saeco S500 Incanto Sirius monster espresso machine – worse then a slot machine.

SG do you mean you have an actual Saeco all to yourself in your cabin:confused:

I want one on the Dawn or I'll pout

The holidays will be here before we know it.

I am sure we have all experienced joy, sorrow, failure and success to some measure this year. Some of us will embrace the coming celebrations and others will face them with as much courage as they can muster.

If we think of this board as a community of people with a shared interest, we should also remember that we are just people.....

And none of us can claim to be perfect people.

Let's keep this place somewhere where we can agree to disagree.;)

To all a very special and happy holiday:)

Oh I almost forgot about Skippy. The worm that tried to get to America but I fear ended up buried at sea. CC dinner in Tepanyki, Freah pea pods to start, out jumps a worm from one of the pods on my sons plate. He had only eaten half a pea needing the rest to get to the end of the cruise.

We all really like the worm and decided to rescue this magical traveler. We even named him Skippy. We kept the plate so Skippy could enjoy dinner with us. The waiter tried to take Skippy but we all said no problem please let him stay. By the time Skippy had with us for 10 minutes there was a group of restaurant staff huddling in the corner plotting to worm nap him.

When the staff started into what looked like a pending panic attack we decided it was time to let him go. ( I know I was a meanie again) but everyone including the staff had a great laugh . As we gave up Skippy to certain burial at sea we were saddened but the staff thankful.

A moment of silence please for Skippy.

I just now read this extreamly funny "skippy the worm" story. Thank you Shoreguy...what a hoot! Only the "truth" is this funny. ;)

I keep wondering though... what the reaction would have been had the critter been "Ricky the Roach" ? :D

We had a little party this afternoon, nice to know it was the best one EVER to be held in the Vista Villa :D:p;)

We only wished more of you were here!

For Cruisin, bunnies, from dinner....

WHo can guess the cast of characters? I have only met two of you in this pic and have met the photographer!!!

Cha,

You always have to show up at party dressed differently than others, don't you?

Even dressed up in a Toga premature. (premature togalation???)

Good on Ya!!

I always thought that the stuff they pour into the pots with fake plants was suppose to expand and turn solid to hold the plant in place? I'd try to get it out of my shoes ASAP. :D

We have over 4 months to wait before our turn on the Pearl. :( I will say that reading all your posts and knowing that you are almost to Miami makes me sad. You've made us feel like we are there...can't believe I can be so excited about someone else's cruise? I guess you have paved the way and worked some of the bugs out for those of us that will be on the Pearl in the future. :D Poor, Skippy. Hope he wasn't traveling with his family!

In advance, I am sorry if I make some folks mad. I have just sorted through two pages of postings trying to find the updates from Shoreguy. Instead I get lots of well wishers adding their two cents with good luck, thanks, great job, bon voyage, see ya soon, etc. etc.

All well and good, but gee whiz......

I couldn't agree more. Got as far as your post & gave up.

Of course, if you really want to look at shoreguys posts you could just look up all his posts. I think his last 39 are in this thread and you could look at them individually. It's really not difficult.

12/11 - 2:30 am but in 30 minutes it will be 1:30 am as we return to eastern time. This cruise is entering the final day. Speed 18.5 knots, wind 20 knots, seas 4-7 feet, 478 miles to Miami.

What a day yesterday. I don’t know where to start. Started out slow and went straight up from there. Dinner for 52 CC members tonight. Pay no attention to the photo posted by timezarrow none of those people are real just an illusion at sea..lol.

The pirate flag is flying proudly above the vista villa that will never be the same. Pirate and Cha threw a rock star party in that villa. A great time was had by all. It got better after the first person was thrown into the hot tub. Details to follow by many.

After the party we crawled back to my cabin. Calmac and Mc Cruiser in tow to see the AB. A quick tour and the doorbell rang. More refugees from the pirate party. Break out the champagne and the party continued. A phone call to Monique on Ruths team and we sent 9 off to the bistro to dinner while the two of us headed to the show and Indigo for dinner at 9pm.

What can I say about the show Tubez. The best part of the show was the crew Norwegian Way farewell. I am not the best show critic but on balance I give it a 5 out of ten. The GAR singers and dancers strong as always. The couple doing lifts outstanding. The BMX and inline skater a read disappointment. As far as I was concerned they added little and you could find kids in your neighborhood that could be more impressive.

One a high not we had the best dinner of the cruise in Indigo – service was outstanding- the food as good as any in the specialty restaurants. I had the lamb crown roast and my son the lobster ravioli with prawns. A 5 coarse meal in just over an hour. No rush and Jeff our waiter was great.

Off to the casino (who would have guessed). They were kind to me tonight.

I saw the post about self serve laundry – when out at 2 am on a quest – I have not been able to find one in the usual locations. I fear they may be gone but I will check tomorrow.

I hate to go to sleep since the end of this cruise will come even sooner. Is everything perfect yet. No way. Would I be happy to stay onboard for another ten days –absolutely.

I'm in the office today and called NCL, I was told the Pearl has self-service laundry facilities on decks 5, 9, 10 & 11. Washers and dryers are free, must purchase soap ($1 per box, one box per load). Also irons are available for use in the laundry room.

I've put up some information (and our own opinions) on my blog at http://progster.blogspot.com there are some pictures of the ship, but I'll wait till I have cheaper internet access before putting more up. I'm sure much of it has already been covered here already, but I don't have the ship internet minutes to read it all ;)

Cheers

Laundry Quest – walked deck 11 from end to end trying every crew door. Nada. Checked with the cabin steward I meet. He said only decks 5 and 9. Found one well marked like the Jewel across from cabin 9088. Boy was it busy. I also found one on deck 10 across from 10822. Did not check deck 5.

Thanks SG for all of your useful (and funny) observations about the Pearl. I noticed some folks were commenting about the length of this thread and it was hard to find just your posts, so I cut and pasted all your posts into another thread (only yours) but it vanished. Maybe it was just too long.
