Hurricane damage to the coral reef?

Most severe damage was to soft coral formations and shallow coral. Those in deeper areas are still very much alive and even those damaged are showing Nature's healing powers. Fish are abundant and yes, it's worth the trip if you get a boat snorkel tour and go to reefs in the 30 to 60 foot depth range.

With shallow reefs we always come back to the same point: They are recouperating and not in great shape. They say that the fish are pretty abundant at Playa Corona, just a little ways south of Dzul-Ha. Give it a try and report back for the benefit of us all.
