Amazon Princess Posted December 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 13, 2006 Just curious, I know other cruise lines I've been on do a guest talent show. Does RCI do one? In particular, the Legend. Anyone who's been at/in one, how do they run it and is there a typical day they hold it on? Thanks

guineapiggirl Posted December 15, 2006 #3 Share Posted December 15, 2006 Howdy there! I don't think there was a talent show on the Explorer, just Karaoke.
wrp96 Posted December 15, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 15, 2006 I've never seen a guest talent show on any RCCL ship. They do have a Karaoke Idol contest on some ships.
JLC@SD Posted December 15, 2006 #5 Share Posted December 15, 2006 Based on the "Talent" Shows we have seen.......it is pretty obvious that talent is pretty limited on cruises. But the best was watching the drunk guy drone on through Danny Boy.......that made everyone head for the exits.....:)
Alexis Posted December 15, 2006 #6 Share Posted December 15, 2006 No talent show on the Navigator either. Last one I saw on a RCCL ship was on the Brilliance in 2003.
bigjimmccruise Posted December 15, 2006 #7 Share Posted December 15, 2006 Talent shows on cruises is like watching the first few shows of American Idol. It's so awful you have to watch
PhoenixCruiser Posted December 15, 2006 #8 Share Posted December 15, 2006 Talent shows on cruises is like watching the first few shows of American Idol. It's so awful you have to watch LMBO!! Agreed :D ###
Jay Bee Posted December 15, 2006 #9 Share Posted December 15, 2006 There was one on the Brillance in December of last year. Most of the entrants were kids. There were a few adults who unfortunately looked like lounge lizard wannabees or embarassingly poor street performers. I kind of expected to see it dropped from the agenda. cruzobsessed Posted December 15, 2006 #10 Share Posted December 15, 2006 boy did i have a different experience. last december on the serenade they had a week long KARAOKE IDOL tryouts in one of the lounges. we went to watch almost everynight and while there were some who should only open their mouths to talk and eat......for the most part.....these passengers were pretty frickin talented. then on the last night at the farewell show they had the top 10 from the week compete. i have to say that that show beat out the "paid" entertainment we had seen all week. i'm pretty sure each contestant had to be over 18 and it was all singing. they were fabulous. Amazon Princess Posted December 16, 2006 Author #11 Share Posted December 16, 2006 On the 3 cruises I've been on, all other cruise lines, the guest talent shows have been FULL of awesome talent and were very enjoyable to watch. Maybe we just got lucky. I am one that likes to participate in these things, I have been singing all my life and rnjoy performing. Guess I'll just have to try my hand at Karaoke. So, do they have a piano bar maybe???
