Island Princess mini suite balcony

I'm booked on the Island Princess 12/20 to Hawaii in D318 minisuite-is the balcony covered? I've read so much about covered vs uncovered and our travel agent told us it's covered but I still am unsure from what I'm reading on the posts. I guess either way has pros and cons, but I'm still curious-any experts who can fill me in? Mahalo!
