Chat Noir Posted December 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2006 Anyone know if FunShip Dollars can be purchased onboard the day of embarkation? We embark Christmas Day, and I'd like to give them to the teenagers sailing with me that evening. Also, is $20 tucked into a tiny stocking and given to our steward on Christmas evening as a bonus/Christmas remembrance appropriate for a 5 night cruise? Shelby23 Posted December 23, 2006 #3 Share Posted December 23, 2006 I gave my steward $20 on the first day.....He did a great job filling our cooler with ice and many more extra's for us so on the last day I gave him another $20. It was well deserved, he did a great job!!!!
starketcher Posted December 23, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 23, 2006 I gave mine a pre-tip the last cruise, NEVER again. My cooler never got extra ice unless I went and got it. His serevice was adequate, nothing over and beyond. SO I will not do that again. However, I do beleive it would be a nice Christmas gesture to givvee the steward a 20 in a stocking! cruzin w chris Posted December 23, 2006 #5 Share Posted December 23, 2006 i kinda got burned on the $20 pre tip as well, no extra's at all and i asked about keeping that hard cover carnival book that was in the cabin and got a quick " NO " for a reply and told me i would be charged if i wanted it . Chat Noir Posted December 24, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted December 24, 2006 Thanks ya'll!:) I don't expect anything 'above and beyond' from the steward(ess). We've always tipped extra at the end of the cruise... but since it's Christmas Day we set sail, and our steward is likely far from home, I just wanted to do somethin' kinda fun.
