airbusdrvr Posted December 23, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 23, 2006 I called Red Sail the other day about finishing a speciality course for my daughter when we stop in Cayman on Legend of the Seas this spring . The lady I spoke with said they no longer contract with RCCL. She said they(RCCL) went with a cheaper dive operator after many years of using Red Sail. She told me if I dove with the new dive operation and was not pleased with them to be sure and let RCCL know my opinion in writing. Does anyone know the dive operation RCCL uses in GC ? Comments ? airbusdrvr Posted December 29, 2006 Author #2 Share Posted December 29, 2006 I just got a reply back from Greg at Seasports in Grand Cayman, unfortunately he is already booked(spring break) for our date in GC and all of Red Sail boats depart at 8 or 8:30am. Legend doesn't arrive in GC until 9am so its looking like I may be stuck with the ships excursion. Does anyone know which operator RCCL is using in GC ? Does anyone know which operator RCCL is using in GC ?You might not be stuck with the ship's operator. Try contacting http://www.neptunesdivers.com They often schedule later departures in order to accommodate cruisers.
airbusdrvr Posted December 30, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted December 30, 2006 Thanks for the info bruce , I've contacted Neptune divers and awaiting a reply. I am curious who is doing the RCCL ships diving now that Red Sail is no longer doing it.
airbusdrvr Posted January 5, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted January 5, 2007 Just got a reply back from Neptune. Casey said "Thanks for your interest in our operation. Unfortunately you arrive a bit too late for our 9 AM departure for our 2 tank trip on April 2nd. You should try contacting Greg at Seasports at....... Red Sail, Seasports and now Neptune, all said we arrive to late to dive with them. I may call RCCL and ask which dive operator they are using since no one here knows. bruce-r Posted January 5, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 5, 2007 Bummer. Still, I'd rather do 2 shore dives at sunsethouse or http://www.divetech.com 's turtle farm shore dive site than go with the ship's excursion. At least I'd get to dive my computer and not be stuck with a follow the leader dive of limited bottom time.
airbusdrvr Posted January 6, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted January 6, 2007 While I'm waiting on a reply from divetech I contacted RCCL to find out who they use for diving in GC. I was transfered to the shore excursion desk and was informed they could not give out that information.
1milehi Posted January 8, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 8, 2007 I have heard that RCCL now uses Resort Sports in GC. I don't know anything about them other than they operate out of Beach Colony Resort. Hope this helps.
