pryd Posted December 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2006 Has anyone had experience with Carnival filing a claim against carrier DHL? What was the resolution to the loss? History: Cruised 11/29 on Sensation, Carnival lost bag, found it, and sent it out to me by DHL. DHL lost the bag and told me to have Carnival file a claim against the luggage since it cannot be found in their system. Anyone else have this experience and was it resolved to your satisfaction? pryd
boundingmaynard Posted December 24, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 24, 2006 I have never been a victim of lost luggage, however on our 12/3 cruise they were sending out a missing luggage bulletin with the Capers everyday for maybe 3 or 4 days. With the volume of luggage they handle and the easily removed tags they use, I'm surprised it doesn't happen more frequently. I'll bet those tags are the #1 reason for lost luggage. Carnival should switch to a more durable luggage tag, perhaps like the airlines use.
irishgirl Posted December 24, 2006 #3 Share Posted December 24, 2006 Nope, DHL delivered my bag later in the week. If you had insurance, you can claim a lost bag. I had to claim delayed luggage and a broken blow dryer besides everything else. I think all the information you will need to have Carnival file a claim is on the lost luggage claim you filed. zqvol Posted December 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 24, 2006 Since Carnival was the shipper, they have to file the claim, which they should do. With any luck your bag will be found somewhere.
