SLL Posted December 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2006 Hi. We are sailing with friends and family in March on the Rhapsody. We've sailed Carnival twice but not with our children. This is not only our first time to sail Royal Caribbean, but their first time to cruise. We are booked in cabin 3571. We are somewhat nervous about taking our kids ages 10 & 16 on a cruise. Any good thoughts and ideas for family cruising? We are all excited. Thanks
RevSmith Posted December 24, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 24, 2006 There are loads of children on RCI and the children's program is very good...there is also baby sitting service in your cabin for a nominal fee. Enjoy your cruise with your children. The best thing is you can have them with you when ever you or they want, and they can be else where when there is that need. The progams are lovely, you and they will love them. Happy Holidays.
TEXASMUNK Posted December 24, 2006 #3 Share Posted December 24, 2006 Kids program is just down right great. It is age appropriate so your two will find other kids their age. (the 16 is probably too cool to get involved in organized stuff, but that won't deter them from fining out it is great ship for teens. The ship is the perfect size, easy to get around, tons to to do, and the crew is the very, very best in the RCI fleet. Bon Voyage!
CoronaCpl Posted December 24, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 24, 2006 the 16 is probably too cool to get involved in organized stuff, but that won't deter them from fining out it is great ship for teens. We've taken teens 3 times and this is so true (in our case, anyway)...way too cool for the organized stuff. BUT, they appeared to have a good time nonetheless. Our daughter and vacationing friend loved the people watching, pools, the shows, and the special treatment they get at dinner. Out of curiosity, has anybody cruising with teens had their teens actually "join" the teen stuff? We went up to the teen area a couple times and noticed a lack of activity - except for the first night when they were doing a sign-up. Love my daughter dearly, but she is super-high maintenance and probably will never cruise with her again (until she's 20-something...) Oh, for the younger ones on our Royal Caribbean cruises they seemed very organized and each time we saw the kids on the ship it appeared they were having a blast!
